During this five years and eight months period of time from March 6, 2009 through October 31, 2014, Democrats were in control of the US Senate.
I found 68 Georgia Headquartered Companies in Yahoo's or Google's superb Finance websites or from SEC filings with current Total Stock Market Capitalizations of more than $100 mil each and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:
- On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
- On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and
- also on the most recent date October 31, 2014.
The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources.... Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.
These 71 Georgia Companies had their average equal-company-weighted stock market prices decline by a massive 55% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.
But in the five years and eight months since March 6, 2009 through October 31, 2014, the average stock market prices of these same 71 Georgia Companies have increased by an exceptional 490%.
This 490% increase is a very nice step up in percentage increase from that of just two weeks ago, where the average increase was a lower 451% from March 6, 2009 to October 17, 2014.
To illustrate just how exceptionally strong these Georgia Companies are, precisely a dozen of them had their stock market prices increase by more than 10 times since March 6, 2009.
Also, in the six years and ten months from December 31, 2007 before the 2008 financial meltdown to the most recent date October 31, 2014, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 71 Georgia Companies have increased by an impressive 89%...... yeah, these Georgia Companies have not just recouped the massive amount they lost with the disastrous 2008 financial meltdown, but also added another 89%.
Below here are the stock market prices of each of these 71 Georgia Companies, overwhelmingly Atlanta Metro Area Companies, on October 31, 2014, on March 6, 2009, and on December 31, 2007, along with the related Stock Market Price Percentage Changes:

On the earnings front, Georgia Companies have performed exceptionally since the 2008 financial meltdown. I found 44 Georgia Companies with Stock Market Capitalizations now of at least $1 bil each and also with annual audited financial statements filed with the SEC which included audited earnings amounts for all years from 2008 through 2013.
The Total Audited 2013 Net Income from Continuing Operations of these 44 Georgia Companies was $42.1 bil, an increase of a phenomenal 864% from the comparable earnings of $4.4 bil in 2008, which was the very last year of the George W Bush/Dick Cheney Presidency.
In addition, the Total Audited Earnings of these 44 Georgia Companies in 2013 of $42.1 bil were up a very impressive 94% increase over the comparable earnings in 2007 of $21.7 bil, which was the peak year earnings before the disastrous effects of the 2008 financial meltdown hit......these 44 Georgia Companies not only recouped the earnings they lost with the financial meltdown, but they also added another 94% of earnings.
This miraculous earnings recovery for these 44 Georgia Companies from 2008 to the most recent 2013 occurred when the Democrats controlled the US Senate, when President Obama was in office and when there were very effective US Fed Chairpersons.
Below here are the Audited Net Income (Loss) From Continuing Operations for each of these 44 Georgia Companies in each of the six years 2013, 2012, 2011, 2009, 2008 and 2007, along with the related Net Income (Loss) Percentage Changes:
