San Francisco Bay & Silicon Valley Areas Company Average Stock Prices Up 549% Under Obama, Governor Brown, Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer and the US Fed, After Being Down 55% Due to Financial Meltdown

I found 203 San Francisco Bay Area, Including the Silicon Valley Area, Headquartered Companies in Yahoo's superb Finance website with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:
  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and 
  • also on the most recent date February 26, 2014
I also included Visa since its common stock first started trading in March 2008.   That makes 204 San Francisco Bay Area Companies.

Several of these 204 San Francisco Bay Area Companies are legally headquartered overseas but with very substantial operations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 204 San Francisco Bay Area Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by a massive 55% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 204 San Francisco Bay Area Companies have increased by a spectacular 549% through today February 26, 2014.

The 41 San Francisco Area Health Care Companies had an average stock market price increase in the roughly 5 year period from March 6, 2009 to February 26, 2014 of an incredibly off-the-charts 1,310%.....yeah, that's up 13 times.

The 120 San Francisco Area Technology Companies registered an average stock market price increase in the roughly 5 year period from March 6, 2009 to February 26, 2014 of a very impressive 373%.

The 21 San Francisco Area Finance Companies posted an average stock market price increase in the roughly 5 year period from March 6, 2009 to February 26, 2014 of a very robust 350%.

The 14 San Francisco Area Services Companies had an average stock market price increase in the roughly 5 year period from March 6, 2009 to February 26, 2014 of a very impressive 318%.

Altogether there were 15 San Francisco Area Companies which increased their stock market prices by more than 10 times in the roughly 5 year period from March 6, 2009 to February 26, 2014.  11 of these 15 were Technology Companies.

Two Biotechnology Companies were main drivers of this overall outsized 549% average stock market price growth....Jazz Pharmaceuticals (up 260 times) and Pharmacyclics (up 169 times).

To illustrate the operational consistency of these 204 San Francisco Bay Area Companies, only 8 of them had stock market price declines since March 6, 2009.

San Francisco Bay Area citizens should be extremely pleased with the outstanding performance of nearly all of their San Francisco Bay Area Companies during the Obama Administration.
