New York Financial Company Average Stock Prices Up 314% Under Obama, Schumer, Gillibrand, Maloney and the US Fed, After Being Down 62% Due to Financial Meltdown

I found 94 New York Financial Companies in Yahoo's superb Finance website or from a review of SEC filings with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:
  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and 
  • also on the most recent date February 21, 2014.
A handful of these 94 Companies are legally headquartered overseas but with very substantial operations in New York. 

The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 94 New York Financial Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by a massive 62% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 94 New York Financial Companies have increased by a very robust 314% through February 21, 2014, led by Newcastle Investment Corp's stock market price increasing by 30 times since March 6, 2009.  Three other New York Financial Companies had stock market price increases above 10 times.

To show the consistency of these New York Financial Companies, only 6 of the 94 had stock market price declines since March 6, 2009.

New York citizens must be extremely pleased with the resurrection of the New York financial industry pretty much from the dead during the Obama Administration.
