- On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
- On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and
- also on the most recent date February 24, 2014.
These 43 Indiana Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by a massive 58% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.
But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 43 Indiana Companies have increased by a spectacularly off-the-charts 860%, mainly driven by Elkhart-based Patrick Industries's stock market price increasing by 123 times since March 6, 2009.
But it wasn't just Patrick Industries. There were another 3 Indiana Companies which had their stock market prices increase by more than 25 times since March 6, 2009.....Carmel-based CNO Financial Group (up 47 times), Pendleton-based Remy Intl (up 43 times) and Evansville-based Escalade (up 26 times).
And there were another 2 Indiana Companies which had their stock market prices increase more than 10 times.
In addition, there were another 3 Indiana Companies which had their stock market prices increase by more than 8 times.
For all US States with more than 25 Companies meeting the tests, Indiana's average stock market increase since March 6, 2009 of 860% was the highest and by quite a bit. The second highest.....Michigan.....had an average stock market price increase of 744% for the just less than 5 years from March 6, 2009 to now.
I really can't understand why the top Indiana Republicans including Governor Mike Pence, US Senator Dan Coats and US 8th District Congressman Dr. Larry Bucshon continue to harp on how the Obama Administration has harmed Indiana businesses so much.
Indiana citizens, looking at the data here objectively, should be extremely pleased with the outstanding performance of their Indiana Companies during the Obama Administration.
Below here are the stock market prices of these 43 Indiana Companies on February 24, 2014, on March 6, 2009, and on December 31, 2007:
