30 Largest US Business Software & Services Company Stock Prices Down 46% Due to Financial Meltdown Spillover Effects, Then Up 449% Under Obama and the US Fed

I found 37 US Business Software & Services Companies classified in the Technology Sector at Yahoo's superb Finance website with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil each.

Of these 37 US Business Software & Services Companies, 30 of them also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:

  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was their lowest point due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and
  • also on the most recent date February 7, 2014.

The historical common stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 30 largest US Business Software & Services Companies having their common stocks trading on each of the above three dates had their average stock prices drop by a huge 46% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the average stock prices of these same 30 US Business Software & Services Companies have increased by a very impressive 449% through February 7, 2014, led by Datawatch (up 2,359%), eGain (up 1,692%) and NetSuite (up 1,204%).  And remarkably, all 30 of them had their stock market prices more than double.

Clearly, the investors in and employees of all of these 30 US Business Software & Services Companies must be extremely pleased with the impact of actions taken by both the Obama Administration and the US Fed to successfully rescue the US economy from its extremely weakened state.

The more I study the outstanding stock performance during the Obama Administration of the many technology and biotechnology companies and also the many best-of-breed nontechnology companies which are heavy users of technology, the more I am convinced that technology is driving all aspects of the US economy.

The US is very fortunate to be so overwhelmingly dominant in its technology versus the rest of the world.  Frankly, I would put more weight on the country's technological dominance than on its military dominance.

But there is a very significant problem here that the US Congress has refused to address.  This US technological dominance is leaving most US citizens way behind the curve, and especially many in the US middle class and nearly all in the US lower economic class.  They aren't sharing in the fruits of this US technological dominance.  This US technological dominance is contributing much to the massive and ever-expanding US Income and Wealth Inequality.

Below here are the stock market prices of each of these 30 largest US Business Software & Services Companies having their stocks trading on February 7, 2014, on March 6, 2009, and also on December 31, 2007:
