Maryland Company Average Stock Prices Up 534% Under Obama, Van Hollen, Mikulski, Cordin, O'Malley and the US Fed, After Being Down 48% Due to Financial Meltdown

I found 43 Maryland Companies in Yahoo's superb Finance website with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:

• On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
• On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and 
• also on the most recent date February 21, 2014.

I also included the 2 Maryland Companies which were sold recently and 1 Maryland Company which first started trading in May 2008.  That makes 46 Maryland Companies.

The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 46 Maryland Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by a huge 48% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 46 Maryland Companies have increased by a very impressive 534% through February 21, 2014.

There were 7 Maryland Companies with stock price increases since March 6, 2009 of more than 10 times, led by American Capital (up 35 times), Sinclair Broadcast Group (up 25 times), WR Grace (up 23 times) and Under Armour (up 17 times).

To show the consistency of these Maryland Companies, only 3 of the 46 had a stock market price decline since March 6, 2009.

Maryland citizens must be extremely pleased with the outstanding performance of these Maryland Companies during the Obama Administration.
