North Carolina Company Average Stock Prices Up 386% Under Obama, Hagan and the US Fed, After Being Down 52% Due to Financial Meltdown

I found 51 North Carolina Headquartered Companies in Yahoo's superb Finance website with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:

• On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
• On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and 
• also on the most recent date February 21, 2014.

The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 51 North Carolina Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by a huge 52% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 51 North Carolina Companies have increased by a very impressive 386% through February 21, 2014, led by 5 Companies having their stock market prices increasing by at least 10 times since March 6, 2009.....Sonic Automotive (up 23 times), Salix Pharmaceuticals (up 15 times), Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (also up 15 times), Unifi (up 12 times) and Hanesbrands (up 10 times).

To illustrate their consistent operating performance, 48 of the 51 North Carolina Companies had their stock market prices increase since March 6, 2009.

I excluded from the 51 North Carolina Companies 3D Systems Corp, which is located in the Charlotte, NC Metropolitan Area in Rock Hill, SC.  3D Systems had its common stock market price increase from $1.54 on March 6, 2009 to $80.74 on February 21, 2014, an increase of an incredibly off-the-charts 5,143%.  If 3D Systems was included with the North Carolina Companies like all of the other Charlotte, NC Metropolitan Area Companies are, then the average stock market price increase since March 6, 2009 of all North Carolina Companies would increase from 386% to a much higher 478%.

Probably more than anyone in office, Kay Hagan is responsible for this outstanding performance of so many of these North Carolina Companies.  She works extremely hard for North Carolina businesses and is very effective at it.

North Carolina citizens must be very pleased with the strong performance of these North Carolina Companies during the Obama Administration.
