Georgia Company Average Stock Prices Up 480% Under Obama, Kasim Reed and the US Fed, After Being Down 55% Due to Financial Meltdown

I found 68 Georgia Headquartered Companies in Yahoo's superb Finance website with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:
  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and 
  • also on the most recent date February 24, 2014.
I also included below the 1 Georgia Company whose common stock began trading in April 2008.  That makes 69 Georgia Companies.

The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 69 Georgia Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by a massive 55% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 69 Georgia Companies have increased by a very impressive 480% through February 24, 2014.

There were 8 of the 69 Georgia Companies with stock market price increases of more than 10 times.  Leading these were Gray Television (up 31 times), Carmike Cinemas (up 22 times), Oxford Industries (up 20 times) and Asbury Automotive Group (up 19 times).

To illustrate the operational consistency of these 69 Georgia Companies, only 3 of them had stock market price declines since March 6, 2009.

Georgia citizens should be extremely pleased with the outstanding performance of their Georgia Companies during the Obama Administration.
