10 Largest US Generic Drug Manufacturers Stock Prices Down 40% Due to Financial Meltdown Spillover Effects, Then Up 640% Under Obama and the US Fed

I found 10 US Generic Drug Manufacturers classified in the Health Care Sector at Yahoo's superb Finance website with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil each and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:

  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was their lowest point due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and
  • also on the most recent date February 5, 2014.

The historical common stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 10 US Generic Drug Manufacturers had their average stock prices drop by a huge 40% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the average stock prices of these same 10 US Generic Drug Manufacturers have increased by a very impressive 640% through February 5, 2014.  Two of the Ten were "Ten Baggers Plus".  And all 10 had stock price increases.

Clearly, the investors in and employees of these 10 US Generic Drug Manufacturers must be extremely pleased with the impact of actions taken by both the Obama Administration and the US Fed to successfully rescue the US economy from its extremely weakened state.

Also, these Generic Drug Companies have flat out thrived under the Affordable Care Act.  Wise investors have moved up their common stock market prices smartly in anticipation of many more US citizens being covered by insurance and by Medicaid Expansion.

Below here are the stock market prices of each of these 10 US Generic Drug Manufacturers on February 5, 2014, on March 6, 2009, and on December 31, 2007:
