New York Non-Financial Company Average Stock Prices Up 539% Under Obama, Schumer, Gillibrand, Slaughter and the US Fed, After Being Down 56% Due to Financial Meltdown

I found 140 New York Non-Financial Companies in Yahoo's superb Finance website or from reviewing SEC filings with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:
  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and 
  • also on the most recent date February 21, 2014.
Several of these 140 Companies are legally headquartered overseas but with very substantial operations in New York.

Alcoa is headquartered in New York but I included it in with the Pennsylvania Companies since it has very substantial operations there.

I also included below both Harris Interactive and Anaren since they were both very recently sold.  That makes 142 New York Companies.

The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 142 New York Non-Financial Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by a massive 56% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 142 New York Non-Financial Companies have increased by a spectacular 539% through February 21, 2014, led by Keryx Biopharmaceuticals's stock market price increase of a massive 148 times since March 6, 2009.

There were 6 New York Non-Financial Companies with their stock market prices increasing by more than 23 times since March 6, 2009.

And there were 12 New York Non-Financial Companies with their stock market prices increasing by more than 13 times since March 6, 2009.

I have very conservatively excluded from these 142 New York Non-Financial Companies Clarence, NY-based 22nd Century Group, a plant biotechnology company focusing on smoking cessation.  22nd Century Group was the surviving entity in a reverse merger it entered into.  Thus, it has been in existence continually much before December 31, 2007.

22nd Century's common stock was trading at $0.0719 on December 31, 2007, declined to only $0.0018 on March 6, 2009, and it closed at $4.21 on the most recent date February 21, 2014.  Thus, 22nd Century Group's stock market price has appreciated an incredible 2,338 times from March 6, 2009 to February 21, 2014.  If 22nd Century were included, the average stock market price increase for all New York Non-Financial Companies would increase from 539% to an incredibly off-the-charts 2,171%.

New York citizens must be extremely pleased with the outstanding performance of these New York Non-Financial Companies during the Obama Administration.
