5 Largest Publicly-held US Hospital Corps Average Stock Prices Down 54% Due to Financial Meltdown Spillover Effects, Then Up 411% Under Obama and the US Fed

I found 5 Publicly-held US Hospital Corps classified in the Health Care Sector at Yahoo's superb Finance website with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil each and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates :

  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was their lowest point due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and
  • also on the most recent date February 6, 2014.

The historical common stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 5 Publicly-held US Hospital Corps had their average stock prices drop by a huge 54% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the slightly less than five years since March 6, 2009, the average stock prices of these same 5 Publicly-held US Hospital Corps have increased by a very impressive 411% through February 6, 2014, led by Tenet Healthcare's massive 1,114% stock price increase.  And the lowest stock price increase of the 5 was a robust 178%.

Clearly, the investors in and employees of all of these 5 Publicly-held US Hospital Corps must be extremely pleased with the impact of actions taken by both the Obama Administration and the US Fed to successfully rescue the US economy from its extremely weakened state.

Also, these US Publicly-held US Hospital Corps, along with the many Non-Profit ones, have flat out thrived under the Affordable Care Act.  And they will do even more so if more Red States decide to fully expand Medicaid.

Below here are the stock market prices of each of these 5 Publicly-held US Hospital Corps on February 6, 2014, on March 6, 2009, and on  December 31, 2007:
