The 138 Chicago Area Companies With Market Caps Above $100 Mil Generated Total Audited US GAAP Earnings in 2015 of $61.747 Bil, Up an Incredible 52% Over Their 2014 Total Audited Earnings of $40.723 Bil and 11 Times Their Total Earnings of $5.648 Bil in 2008, the Year Before President Obama Took Office, and Even Up 119% Over 2007 ..... Maybe Barack Obama Should Be Considered For the Chicago Business Hall of Fame?

Since President Obama is traveling this weekend (October 7-9, 2016) to Chicago, I think it might be helpful to research how Chicago Area Headquartered Companies have performed on the earnings front during the Obama Administration.

From a review of the very fine Google Finance Website and of company financial statements in the US SEC website, I found the 138 Companies headquartered in the Chicago Area, all with Stock Market Capitalizations now of more than $100 Mil and which also have filed their fiscal year 2015 annual financial statements with the SEC.  Traditional Regulated Utilities were excluded.

As you can see in the below chart, the Total Audited Earnings of these 138 Chicago Area Companies were on absolute fire in 2015.

Below here are the reported Audited Earnings (Losses) From Continuing Operations of each of these 138 Chicago Area Companies along with the 14 DownState Illinois Companies with Stock Market Caps above $100 Mil for all years reported from 2007 through 2015 where the amounts were presented and in a consistent manner:
