Detroit Area Companies With Market Caps Above $100 Mil Average Stock Market Prices Up 1,111% Since March 6, 2009, a Month and a Half After President Obama Took Office

The 2016 US Presidential Race is tightening up some.  The State of Michigan is now considered a Leaning Hillary Clinton State with only a 6.2% average of recent polls margin by the excellent Real Clear Politics.  Chelsea Clinton and Tim Kaine both campaigned in Michigan this past weekend and Donald Trump is campaigning there today.

Thus, I think it might be helpful to research how the Michigan Headquartered Companies have performed on the stock market price front during the Obama Administration.

Using Stock Market Prices from a combination of three excellent sources ..... Big Charts.com, GRT Historical Stock Price.com and Google Finance ..... below here are the 33 Detroit Area Headquartered Companies and the 18 Michigan Headquartered Companies outside of the Detroit Area with Stock Market Caps of at least $100 mil and which have had their common stocks trading from December 31, 2007,  through the very recent date of October 28, 2016, or the date the Companies were sold, if they were sold since the beginning of 2014,  along with the related Stock Market Price Percentage Changes.

The below Average Stock Market Price Changes weigh each Company equally.

The 60 Michigan Companies With Market Caps Above $100 Mil Generated Total Audited US GAAP Earnings in 2015 of $36 Bil, Up 79% From the Total Earnings of $20 Bil in 2014 ..... 2015 Total Earnings of $36 Bil Were an Earnings Improvement of $79 Bil From the Total Losses of $43 Bil in 2008, the Year Before President Obama Took Office ..... Two Year 2014-15 Total Earnings of $56.5 Bil Were an Earnings Improvement of $122.5 Bil From the Two Year 2008-9 Total Losses of $66.0 Bil ..... Three Year 2013-15 Total Earnings of $90.1 Bil Were an Earnings Improvement of $197.7 Bil From the Three Year 2007-9 Total Losses of $107.6 Bil

From a review of the very fine Google Finance Website and of company financial statements in the US SEC website, I found the 60 Companies headquartered in Michigan, all with Stock Market Capitalizations recently of more than $100 Mil and which also have filed their fiscal year 2015 annual financial statements with the SEC.  Traditional Regulated Utilities were excluded.

Below here are the reported Audited Earnings (Losses) From Continuing Operations of each of these 60 Michigan Companies for all years reported from 2007 through 2015 where the amounts were presented and in a consistent manner:
