Of these 84 2011 US IPOs, 23 are Technology Companies, 21 are Oil & Gas, 10 are Health Care, 10 are Services and 8 are REITs.
Clearly, US Health Care Companies having IPOs in 2011 led this stock price appreciation avalanche with an average stock market price appreciation of a huge 252% in the very short period through March 7, 2014. Drug Company Pacira Pharmaceuticals had its stock market price increase by an off-the-charts 960%. And the 4 Biotechnology Companies had their average stock price increase by a spectacular 318%.
The huge number of 23 US Technology Company IPOs in 2011 had their average stock price increase by an impressive 55% through March 7, 2014, with two Application Software Companies having stock price increases of more than 200% each.
There were a huge number of 21 2011 IPOs related to Oil and Gas Companies, with an average stock market price increase of 31% through March7, 2014.
In the Services Sector, the IPO leader in 2011 was Spirit Airlines, with its stock price advancing by a huge 376% through March 7, 2014.
Auto Parts supplier Delphi Automotive had a 212% stock price appreciation through March 7, 2014 leading 2011 IPOs in the Other Sectors.
There were 8 REIT IPOs in 2011 with an average stock price increase of 20% through March 7, 2016, which is especially noteworthy considering that in order to retain tax-exempt status, at least 90% of an REIT's taxable income each year must be distributed.
In addition to these 84 US IPOs in 2011, there were another 7 US IPOs in 2011 where the Company was acquired subsequently. Their average stock market price decline for the very short period from IPO date to stock sale date was 4%.
It should also be pointed out that this very nice average stock market price growth for all of these 2011 US IPOs as well as the nearly 400% increase in the number of US IPOs over 2008 both occurred when the US Senate was in Democratic Control.
