Chicago Area Companies 2014 Audited Earnings Up Nearly Tenfold From 2008 Earnings ..... Driven In Part By President Obama, Dick Durbin, Area Democrats in the US House, Rahm Emanuel and the US Fed

US House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will be present at a DCCC Fundraiser in Chicago on this Thursday, June 4, 2015.  Thus I think it would be helpful in this post to research how the Companies in the huge Chicago Metro Area have done on the Earnings Front since the 2008 US Financial Meltdown.

From a very thorough review of SEC filings, I found 95 Companies headquartered in the Chicago Area with Stock Market Capitalizations now of at least $1 bil or the equivalent for Non-Public Companies.

So just how have these 95 largest Chicago Area Companies done on the earnings front before, during and after the 2008 financial meltdown?  Just absolutely fantastic earnings improvement.

The 2014 Total Audited Net Income from Continuing Operations of these 95 largest Chicago Metro Area Companies was a huge $43.791 bil, an increase of an exceptionally off-the-charts 959% over the $4.134 bil comparable Total Earnings generated by these same companies in their 2008 fiscal year ends.

So if the question to answer is how much better off are these largest Chicago Area Companies now than they were during their 2008 financial meltdown fiscal years, the answer is nearly 10 times better, or nearly $40 bil better, as audited earnings under US generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) are measured by the very prestigious US accounting profession.

There has been something upwardly explosive happening with the Audited Earnings of Chicago Area Companies and among others, President Obama, Dick Durbin, Rahm Emanuel, Democratic US House Members from the Greater Chicagoland Area Cheri Bustos, Danny Davis, Tammy Duckworth, Bill Foster, Luis Gutierrez, Robin Kelly, Dan Lipinski, Mike Quigley, Bobby Rush and Jan Schakowsky, and the US Fed have all undoubtedly helped here.

Below here are the reported US GAAP Audited Net Income (Losses) of each of  these 95 largest Chicago Area Companies for all of their fiscal years from 2008 through 2014:

On the job front, the US Bureau of Labor reported that the unemployment rate for the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin Metropolitan Statistical Area has dropped precipitously from 12.2% in January 2010 to 5.8% in the most recently reported April 2015.
