The Total Pretax Income of all of these 10 Oregon Corps increased by a robust 32% in 2011 over such amount two years ago in 2009.
Two companies dominate the Oregon profit scene.
Nike and Precision Castparts together comprised a massive 82% of the Total Pretax Profit of all 10 of these Oregon Corps in 2011. Nike's 2011 earnings were up 21% over 2009, and Precision Castpart's 2011 earnings increased 29% over 2009.
But the real story here is what happened to the other 8 Oregon Corps, whose 2011 Total Pretax Earnings nearly doubled, up 96%, with that of two years ago in 2009. I'm looking forward to seeing how the even smaller Oregon Corps' earnings came out in the most recent two years. I have a feeling that they did just fine.
Oregon citizens should be very proud of their fine Oregon companies. And yeah, the Obama Administration created a very robust US economic environment, which permitted these Oregon companies to do very well on the earnings front in the most recent two years.
In deriving Pretax Income, I start with Pretax Income under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and then exclude several clearly unusual very large items relative to Pretax Income, such as Asset Impairments, and Gains and Losses on both Debt Retirements and Asset Dispositions.
