New York Financial Companies Total Pretax Earnings Experienced a Huge Earnings Growth Deceleration in the Most Recent Quarter, With the First Quarter 2018’s Total Pretax Earnings Growth of a Blistering 21.2% Taking a 54% Haircut Down to Up a Much Lower 9.8% in the Second Quarter of 2018.

But on the Very Positive Side, From a Longer Term Perspective, New York Companies Had Their Total Annual Audited Pretax Income Increase By an Absolutely Amazing $389 Bil During the Entire Span of the Obama Administration From 2008, the Year Before Barack Obama Took Office, to 2016, Obama's Last Year in Office.

These 169 New York Companies Posted a Total Audited Pretax Loss of $142 Bil in 2008, the Year Before the Obama Administration Took Office.  

Then in the Last Year of the Obama Administration in 2016, These same 169 New York Companies Generated Total Audited Pretax Income of $247 Bil, thus the Near Miraculous $389 Bil Total Annual Earnings Improvement.

I think a lot of the credit here for this remarkable earnings turnaround has to go to the Triple B's ..... Bernanke, Barack and Bloomberg.  Just saying!

From a review of US SEC filings, there were 85 Financial Companies, including FinTechs and REITs, effectively headquartered in New York with stock market caps of more than $1 Bil recently.

My focus is on Pretax Income rather than on After-Tax Net Income because Income Taxes are simply a transfer of financial wealth between US Corporations and the US Federal, US State and Foreign Governments.  It has nothing whatsoever to do with Company Operating Performance.
