New Hampshire Companies Posted First Half 2018 Pretax Earnings Which Were Up By $17 Mil or By 15%. Excluding the $16 Mil Pretax Earnings Charge in the First Half of 2017 Recorded by Albany Intl For Revisions in Estimated Profitability on Two Contracts, the New Hampshire Companies Total Pretax Income Would Be Up By Only 1% Rather than Up By the Reported 15%.

......................................................................
For a Longer-Term Perspective, New Hampshire Companies Had Their Total Pretax Earnings Increase By $1.248 Bil During the Obama Administration, Going From a Total Pretax Loss of a horrific $1.213 Bil in 2008, the Bush Administration's Last Year in Office, to a Total Pretax Income of $35 Mil in 2016, the Obama Administration's Last Year in Office

From a review of US SEC filings, there were 6 Companies headquartered in New Hampshire with stock market caps of more than $1 Bil several months ago.

My focus is on Pretax Income rather than on After-Tax Net Income because Income Taxes are simply a transfer of financial wealth between US Corporations and the US Federal, US State and Foreign Governments.  It has nothing whatsoever to do with Company Operating Performance.

From a review of SEC filings, the chart below shows the Gold-Standard US GAAP Pretax Income (Loss) From Continuing Operations for the First Half of 2018 and 2017 for these 6 New Hampshire Cos.
