200 Largest US Financial Companies in States Other Than California, New York, DC and Neighboring States 2 Year 2014 and 2013 Audited US GAAP Earnings Were $243 Bil, a Massive $222 Bil Earnings Improvement or 1,052% Increase Over the 2 Year 2009 and 2008 Audited Earnings of $21 Bil For the 2 Years 2009 and 2008 ... 3 Year 2012-2014 Audited US GAAP Earnings Were $337 Bil, Up $255 Bil From the 3 Year 2008-2010 Audited Earnings of $82 Bil ..................... This is all on Ben Bernanke ..................

Former US Fed Chair Ben Bernanke will be delivering a key economic presentation at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana on March 23, 2015.  It is open to the public and free of charge.

In three very recent posts on (1) New York and Neighboring States New Jersey and Connecticut, (2) DC and Neighboring States Virginia, Maryland and Delaware and (3) California, I revealed as best I could the Audited US GAAP Earnings and Losses for US Financial, REIT and Financial Technology Companies with current Stock Market Capitalizations of at least $1 bil in the years before, during and after the horrific 2008 US Financial Meltdown.

Thus, as a backdrop for this upcoming speech and continuing a much deserved tribute to Bernanke's key role in helping the US avoid a Deep, Prolonged Financial Depression, I think it now would be additionally helpful to update just what has been going on with the largest Financial, REITs and Financial Technology Companies in all of the other US States since the disastrous 2008 US Finanial Meltdown.

From a very thorough review of SEC filings and Google's excellent financial website, I found as best I could 200 Financial, REIT and Financial Technology Companies headquartered in these other US States with Stock Market Capitalizations now of at least $2 bil and which have filed audited financial statements with the SEC with financial information disclosures for all years from 2008 through 2014.  I used a higher $2 bil Market Capitalization because there were so many ones (200) with Market Capitalization between of at least $2 bil and also so many more with Market Capitalizations between $1 bil and $2 bil.

So just how have these 200 Financial Companies done on the audited earnings front since the 2008 financial meltdown?  Just spectacular earnings recovery.

The Total Audited US GAAP Net Income from Continuing Operations of these 200 largest Financial Companies in these Other States was a massive $243 bil in their Most Recent Two Years (2014 and 2013) Combined, an incredibly off-the-charts Total Earnings Improvement of $222 bil  or 1,052% increase when compared to the Deep US Recession-Driven Total Audited Earnings for the Two Years (2009 and 2008) Combined of $21 bil.

Further, the Total Audited US GAAP Net Income from Continuing Operations of these 200 largest Financial Companies in these other States was $337 bil in their Most Recent Three Years (2012-2014) Combined, an incredibly off-the-charts even more massive Total Earnings Improvement of $255 bil when compared to the Deep US Recession-Driven Total Audited Earnings for the Three Years (2008-2010) Combined of $82 bil.

There has been something nearly miraculous happening with the largest Financial Companies Earnings all over the country in the past six years and very prescient economic actions by former US Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke played a very pivotal role here in resuscitating many of these Financial Companies from the abyss.

It should be pointed out that the Bank of America Earnings and Losses for all years below include that of Merrill Lynch to make them comparable for all years.

Also, the then extremely financially troubled Ally Financial's 2008 Earnings below were bolstered by a massive $12.6 bil of Gains From Extinguishment of Debt.

Three Companies which surprisingly haven't filed their December 2014 Financial Statements yet and thus aren't included below are ones with huge Losses in the US Financial Meltdown Year of 2008 ..... $2.4 bil Losses for Wyomissing, PA-based Santander Holdings USA, $1.3 bil Losses for Evansville, IN-based Springleaf Finance and $1.2 bil Losses for now Naples, FL-based Hertz Global Holdings.

It is very difficult for me to understand portions of Springleaf's SEC filings since there are three different ones.  Also, Springleaf (then named American General Finance) was a subsidiary of AIG which was bailed out by a massive amount of money provided by US Taxpayers.  In a very strange subsequent transaction in 2010, Springleaf magically reported a $1.5 bil bargain purchase gain dramatically increasing its 2010 reported earnings.

One item that clearly stuck out to me were how many REITs are included in this and my earlier three posts.  And the 2014 Total Audited US GAAP Earnings Increases for these many REITs over 2013 is eye-opening.  Just think what would happen if the IRS more timely approved legitimate requests for REIT qualification.  By their very slow action here, the IRS is holding back the US economy from realizing its potential.
