From a review of SEC filings, there are 48 Indiana headquartered Companies with stock market caps above $100 mil which have filed their annual audited financial statements consecutively from Fiscal Year End (FYE) 2007 through FYE 2017.
Nearly all Republicans,
a high percentage of Independents and even many perceptive Democrats all agree
as a starting point that for US capitalism to work properly, Companies must
generate in the aggregate reasonably healthy profits.
And did these Indiana
Companies ever end up getting pretty healthy profits while Joe Donnelly served
in the US Congress.
In 2007, his first
year serving in the US House, these 48 Indiana Companies posted Audited Gold-Standard
US GAAP Total After-Tax Net Income From Continuing Operations of $10.361 Bil.
Then the disastrous US Meltdown hit in 2008 and these same
Total Earnings plummeted to $1.609 Bil in 2008, a decline of $8.752 Bil or by
84%.
Remarkably, in 2009, these fine Indiana Companies
recovered 98% of the $8,752 Bil they lost in 2008, posting comparable Total
Earnings of $10.155 Bil in 2009, an increase of $8.546 Bil or rocketing up 531%
from the $1.609 Bil registered in 2008.
And updating this information to FYE 2017, these 48 Indiana
Companies posted comparable Total Net Earnings of $13.198 Bil in 2017, which
was an increase of an off-the-charts 720% from their 2008 Total Net Earnings of
$1.609 Bil.
From a review of SEC
filings, the chart below shows the Audited Gold-Standard US GAAP After-Tax Net
Income (Loss) From Continuing Operations for the Fiscal Years Ended 2017, 2009,
2008 and 2007 for these 48 Indiana Companies scattered all over the State.
