Then In 2017, Trump's First Year in Office, These Same 18 Nevada Cos Generated Audited Total Pretax Income of $4.613 Bil For the Year Ended December 31, 2017, Up a Substantially Lower 4% From That in Annual 2016 of $4.427 Bil.
Las Vegas Sands Dominates the Nevada Earnings Landscape, with 66% of the 2017 Total Pretax Income of All 18 Nevada Companies.
The 17 Nevada Companies Other Than Las Vegas Sands Posted 2017 Annual Pretax Income of $1.561 Bil, Down Sharply By 28% From That in Annual 2016 of $2.172 Bil.
My Focus is on Pretax Income Rather Than After-Tax Net Income Because Income Taxes are Simply a Transfer of Financial Wealth Between US Corporations and the US Federal, US State and Foreign Governments. It Has Nothing Whatsoever to do with Company Performance.
From a review of SEC filings, the chart below shows the Audited Gold-Standard US GAAP Pretax Income (Loss) From Continuing Operations for the Years Ended December 31, 2017, 2016 and 2015 for the 18 Nevada Companies with December Year Ends and with stock market caps above $1 bil recently. Caesar Entertainment is excluded below since it went through a bankruptcy and had huge deconsolidation, reorganization and restructuring charges (credits) which resulted in earnings and loss numbers which weren't very meaningful in any of the three years.
