These 45 San Diego Area Companies had their average stock market prices decline by a huge 47% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.
But in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 13, 2014, the average stock market prices of these same 45 San Diego Area Companies have increased by a very impressive 335%.
The 7 San Diego Area Finance Companies posted an average stock market price increase in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 13, 2014 of a spectacular 524%.
The 10 San Diego Area Technology Companies registered an average stock market price increase in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 13, 2014 of a very impressive 372%.
The 22 San Diego Area Health Care Companies had an average stock market price increase in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 13, 2014 of a very solid 284%.
Altogether there were 5 of these 45 San Diego Area Companies which increased their stock market prices by more than 10 times in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 13, 2014.
These 45 San Diego Area Companies had their average stock market prices increase very sharply in the most recent month. To illustrate this point, the average stock market prices of these same San Diego Area Companies had increased by a lower 296% in the five years and two months from March 6, 2009 through May 16, 2014, as compared with a much higher 335% in the five years and three months from March 6, 2009 through June 13, 2014.
From the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the US unemployment rate doubled from 5.0% in December 2007 to 10.0% in October 2009, early in President Obama's first term which was the very lowest point for the US Labor Market due to the lagging spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.
And then with the US economic stimulating actions of the Obama Administration, supported by both a Democratic controlled US Senate and US House (at the time), taking full effect, coupled with the Quantitative Easing by the US Fed, the US unemployment rate declined sharply from 10.0% in October 2009 to 6.3% in the most recently reported May 2014.
In like manner, the State of California's unemployment rate more than doubled, going from 5.8% in December 2007 to 12.1% in October 2009. And then with the US economic stimulating actions of the Obama Administration, supported by both a Democratic controlled US Senate and US House (at the time), going full throttle, coupled with both the Quantitative Easing by the US Fed and a very proactive, Democratic controlled California State Government, the California unemployment rate declined sharply, going from 12.1% in October 2009 to 7.8% in the most recently reported April 2014.
