- On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and

These 46 Maryland Companies had their average stock market prices decline by a huge 48% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.
But in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 17, 2014, the equal-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 46 Maryland Companies have increased by a phenomenal 532%.
Three of these 46 Maryland Companies had their stock market prices increase by more than 20 times in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 17, 2014.
And 7 of these 46 Maryland Companies had their stock market prices increase by more than 10 times in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 17, 2014.
These 46 Maryland Companies had their average stock market prices increase sharply again in the most recent month. To illustrate this point, the average stock market prices of these same 46 Maryland Companies had increased by a lower 504% in the five years and two months from March 6, 2009 through May 14, 2014, as compared with a much higher 532% increase in the five years and three months from March 6, 2009 through June 17, 2014.
To illustrate the overall operational excellence of these 46 Maryland Companies, only 2 of them had their stock market prices decline in the five years and three months since March 6, 2009 through June 17, 2014.
Maryland citizens should be extremely pleased with the outstanding performance of nearly all of their Maryland Companies during the Obama Administration.
In similar fashion on the employment front, from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the US unemployment rate doubled from 5.0% in December 2007 to 10.0% in October 2009, early in President Obama's first term which was the very lowest point for the US Labor Market due to the lagging spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.
And then with the US economic stimulating actions of the Obama Administration, supported by both a Democratic controlled US Senate and US House (at the time), taking full effect, coupled with the Quantitative Easing by the US Fed, the US unemployment rate declined sharply from 10.0% in October 2009 to 6.3% in the most recently reported May 2014.
In like manner, Maryland's unemployment rate more than doubled, going from 3.3% in December 2007 to 7.8% in October 2009. And then with the US economic stimulating actions of the Obama Administration, supported by both a Democratic controlled US Senate and US House (at the time), going full throttle, coupled with the Quantitative Easing by the US Fed, the Maryland State unemployment rate declined sharply, going from 7.8% in October 2009 to 5.5% in the most recently reported April 2014.
