The 113 Largest US Companies, All With Market Caps Above $40 Bil, Generated Total Audited US GAAP Earnings of $646.8 Bil in 2015, Down Only 0.1% From the 2014 Total Earnings of $647.5 Bil ..... 2015 Total Earnings Were Up 283% Over 2008 Total Earnings and Were Up 64% Over 2007 Total Earnings ..... These Very Resilient, Best-of-Breed US Largest Companies Have Recovered From the 2008 Financial Meltdown Much Better Than the Largest Companies in Nearly All Other Countries ..... This One's Also On the Obama Administration and the US Fed

From a review of the fine Google Finance Website and of company financial statements in the US SEC website, I found the 113 largest Companies headquartered in the US, all with Stock Market Capitalizations now of more than $40 Bil.

As you can see in the below chart, the Total Audited Earnings of these largest US Companies dropped by 56% from 2007 to 2008, the financial meltdown year.  Then, these Total Earnings increased by 110% in 2009 over 2008 and increased by another 48% in 2010 over 2009, thereby much more than recouping in only two years the total earnings decline resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown.

Below here are the reported Audited Earnings (Losses) From Continuing Operations of each of these 113 largest US Companies for all years reported from 2007 through 2015, with all companies presented in Stock Market Cap order:
