Thus given this very belated financial reporting, I think it would be helpful to see how these 22 Health Care Companies fared for the first 9 Months of 2014 as compared to 2013.
How did they do? Well, off-the-charts amazingly well.
These 22 San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley Area Health Care Companies generated Total Revenues for the 9 Months Ended September, 2014 of $24.985 bil, an exceptional 74% above what they were for the 9 Months Ended September 30, 2013. I can't remember seeing that kind of Revenue growth for an industry in a very long time, if ever.
On the earnings front, these 22 Health Care Companies did even better. Their Total US GAAP Net Income From Continuing Operations for the 9 Months Ended September 30, 2014 was $8.727 bil, which was a truly spectacularly off-the-charts 245% increase over the $2.528 bil earned by these same 22 Companies for the 9 Months Ended September 30, 2013. Whoa!
Some great things financially are happening in the Health Care Industry in the San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley Area.
It should be pointed out that Jazz Pharmaceuticals' drop in Earnings was caused completely by a $202 mil Acquired Research and Development Earnings Charge in the 9 Months Ended September 30, 2014.
