Los Angeles Area Company Stock Prices Up 407% Since March 6, 2009

Since there is a fundraiser tomorrow Thursday September 18, 2014 for Kentucky Democratic US Senate Candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes to be held in the highly astute peopled city of Beverly Hills, CA and hosted by Jeffrey Katzenberg and many others, I think it might make sense to research just how well Los Angeles Area Companies have done on the stock market price front since March 6, 2009, which was the very bottom point of the US Stock Market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 financial meltdown.  The US financial meltdown occurred when George W Bush was US President and also when Mitch McConnell was the lead Republican in the US Senate.

I found 129 Los Angeles Area Headquartered Companies in Google or Yahoo's superb Finance websites with current Total Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:
  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and
  • also on the most recent date September 17, 2014
I also included 6 Companies which were sold since July 2013.  And I also included 2 Companies whose common stock first started trading in 2008.  That makes a total of 137 Los Angeles Area Companies.

The historical stock prices of these companies were obtained from the following two excellent internet resources....  Google Finance and MarketWatch Big Charts.

These 137 Los Angeles Area Companies had their average stock market prices decline by a massive 56% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the five years and six months since March 6, 2009 to September 17, 2014, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 137 Los Angeles Area Companies have increased by a spectacular 407% through September 17, 2014.

Thus in the six years and eight months from December 31, 2007 before the 2008 financial meltdown to the most recent date September 17, 2014, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 137 Los Angeles Area Companies have increased by an impressive 68%...... yeah, they have not just recouped what they lost with the 2008 financial meltdown, but also added another 68%.

Below here are the stock market prices of each of these 137 Los Angeles Area Companies on September 17, 2014, on March 6, 2009, and on December 31, 2007, along with the related Stock Market Price Percentage Changes:

On the employment front, California's State Unemployment rate more than doubled, spiking up sharply from 5.8% in December 2007 to 12.1% in October 2009. And then with the US economic stimulating actions of the Obama Administration going full throttle, coupled with the Quantitative Easing by the US Fed, the California State unemployment rate declined sharply from 12.1% in October 2009 to 7.4% in the most recently reported July 2014.

Los Angeles Area Citizens must be very pleased with both the outstanding performance of nearly all of their Los Angeles Area Companies as well as the substantial drop in the California State Unemployment rate during the Obama Administration.

Since this Beverly Hills, CA fundraiser relates to a Kentucky US Senate race, it only makes sense to also research just how well Kentucky Companies have done on the stock market price front since March 6, 2009, which was the very bottom point of the US Stock Market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 financial meltdown.  During this five year and six month time from March 6, 2009 to September 17, 2014, the US Senate was under Democratic Control.  The US 2008 financial meltdown occurred when George W Bush was US President and also when Mitch McConnell was the lead Republican in the US Senate.

I found 17 Companies Headquartered in Kentucky in Google or Yahoo's superb Finance websites with current Total Stock Market Capitalizations of at least $100 mil and which also had their common stocks trading on each of the following three dates:
  • On December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second term.....before the 2008 financial meltdown
  • On March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the lowest point for the US stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the 2008 financial meltdown, and
  • also on September 17, 2014
These 17 Kentucky Companies had their equally-company-weighted average stock market prices decline by 38% from December 31, 2007 during President Bush's second Presidential term, to March 6, 2009, very early in President Obama's first term, which was the very lowest point for the overall stock market due to the spillover effects resulting from the disastrous 2008 Financial Meltdown.

But in the five years and six months since March 6, 2009 through September 17, 2014, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 17 Kentucky Companies have increased by a very impressive 319%.

Thus in the six years and eight months from December 31, 2007 before the 2008 financial meltdown to the most recent date September 17, 2014, the equally-company-weighted average stock market prices of these same 17 Kentucky Companies have increased by a very robust 75%...... yeah, they have not just recouped what they lost with the 2008 financial meltdown, but also added another 75%.

Below here are the stock market prices of each of these 17 Kentucky Companies on September 17, 2014, on March 6, 2009, and on December 31, 2007, along with the related Stock Market Price Percentage Changes:
