In deriving Pretax Income, I start with Pretax Income under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and then exclude several clearly unusual very large items relative to Pretax Income, such as Asset Impairments, Gains and Losses on Debt Retirements, Gains and Losses on Asset Dispositions, and Special Litigation Gains and Losses. I also excluded Financial Instrument Gains and Losses, as well as the Foreign Currency and Fair Value Gains and Losses, of the Liberty Group of Corporations.
These 37 superb Colorado Corps had their Total Pretax Income in 2011 increase by 22% over 2010, and by a very robust 93% over 2009.
An amazing 16 of these 37 Colorado Corps, or 43% of them, had Pretax Incomes in 2011 which were triple digit percentage increases over that earned in 2009.
When the exceptionally well-run McDonald's Spinoff Chipotle Mexican Grill is only #22 on this list of 37 Colorado Corps for its very strong 72% earnings growth of the past two years, you know you have a just stellar list of Colorado companies. All Colorado citizens should be very proud of their State's companies.
Clearly, the Obama Administration has created an economic environment in the past two years that has permitted these Colorado Corporations to flat out flourish.
Below here are the 10 of these 37 Colorado Corps which are Oil and Gas Corps. The Total Pretax Income of these 10 Oil and Gas Corps was $4.0 bil in 2011, up 40% from 2010, and up an off-the-charts 647% from 2009. All 10 of these Oil and Gas Corps are headquartered in Denver. Thus, I see why I was recently able to easily spot a Petroleum Club in Downtown Denver.
