The 17 Largest Alabama Cos Saw Their Total Pretax Operating Income Decline By 10% in the 4Q of 2018 From the 4Q of 2017, After Increasing By 35% in the 3Q 2018, the Latter Due To Medical Properties Trust's $647 Mil Gain on Real Estate Sale or Other

Since Alabama is one of the 12 Super Tuesday US States Holding Their 2020 Democratic Presidential Early Primary on March 3, 2020, I Think It Might Be Helpful to Research Just How Alabama Companies Have Performed Recently on the Pretax Operating Earnings Front

 From a review of SEC filings, I found 14 Alabama Companies with stock markets caps of above $100 mil recently.  And I found 3 additional Alabama Companies filing with the SEC, whose common stock doesn't trade but with Total Stockholder Equity of more than $100 mil recently.

The chart below shows the Gold-Standard US GAAP Pretax Operating Income (Loss) for the 4Q  and the 3Q of both 2018 and 2017 for each of these 17 Alabama Companies.  Sixteen of these 17 Companies have December quarter ends.
