Tennessee Companies Stock Market Prices Up 553% Since March 6, 2009 ..... a Nice Uptick in Just One Month

Since President Obama is visiting the Knoxville, Tennessee Area tomorrow January 9, 2015, with Tennessee's two Republican US Senators very willing to work across the aisle for the good of the country ..... Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander ..... and with forward-thinking, open-minded, perceptive Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Haslam ..... all three accompanying the President there, I think it would be helpful to update what has been going on with Tennessee Companies stock market prices since the overall stock market low on March 6, 2009.

From a very thorough review of SEC filings and the excellent Google Finance website, I found 42 Tennessee Headquartered Companies with a current stock market capitalization of at least $100 mil and with their common stock trading from December 31, 2007 through January 8, 2015.

These 42 Tennessee Companies generated an equally-company weighted average stock market price increase of a spectacular 553% for the five years and ten months since March 6, 2009 through today's close January 8, 2015.

This 553% average stock market price growth was a nice uptick from the 545% average stock market growth for these same 42 Tennessee Companies for the five years and nine months since March 6, 2009 through December 9, 2014.

Also, for the seven years from December 31, 2007 to January 8, 2015, these 42 Tennessee Companies average stock market price increased by an off-the-charts 163%.  Yeah, these 42 Tennessee Companies have not just recouped what they lost in average stock market price decline with the disastrous effects of the 2008 Financial Meltdown, but they have now experienced an average stock market price increase of much more than double since December 31, 2007, which was before the 2008 Financial Meltdown hit.

Tennessee Citizens have to be very pleased with their fine Tennessee Companies stock market price appreciation.

Below here are the stock market prices of each of these 42 Tennessee Companies with current stock market capitalizations of at least $100 mil on three dates:
  • on January 8, 2015
  • on March 6, 2009, which was the stock market low after the aftershocks of the 2008 financial meltdown
  • and on December 31, 2007, which was before the 2008 financial meltdown
