Colorado Audited Corporate Net Income of $10.0 Bil in 2011 Under Obama, Up $13.9 Bil Over Net Loss of $3.9 Bil in 2008 Under Bush

From an extensive review of SEC filings, I found a very impressive number of 82 Corps headquartered in the entrepreneurial mecca of Colorado with Pretax Income or Pretax Loss of at least $10 mil in any of the most recent three fiscal years.

These 82 Largest Colorado Corps filing with the SEC had Audited under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) Total After-tax Net Income of $9,956.6 mil in the most recent fiscal year 2011, which was a profit improvement of a massive $13,901.9 mil, or of an off-the-charts 353% above the $3,936.3 mil After-tax Net Loss generated by these same 82 companies just three years earlier in 2008, the last year of the Bush/Cheney Administration.  Yeah, that's an incredible profit improvement of $13.9 bil in just the first three years of the Obama Administration.

So if the question to be answered is whether, in the aggregate, these 82 Colorado Largest Corps are better off now than they were in the last year of the Bush/Cheney Administration, the answer is clearly yes, and by $13.9 bil better, as earnings performance is measured by the prestigious US Accounting Profession.

But another salient story here relates to these 82 Colorado companies total earnings growth by year.

When the US House was under Democratic control, the total earnings growth of these 82 Colorado Corps in 2009 over 2008 was a spectacular 190%, and in 2010 over 2009 was an even more spectacular 233%. And after these two years of spectacular back-to-back total earnings growth, the Total After-tax Net Income of $11,766.7 mil of these 82 Largest Colorado Corps in 2010 was even 89% above the previous annual total earnings high of $6,231.3 mil earned by these same 82 companies in the pre-Great Recession year of 2007.  Whew!

So what happened in 2011, when the Uncompromising, Very Conservative Republicans took control of the US House?  Well, this total earnings growth of these 82 Colorado Corps reversed course, resulting in a significant total earnings decline of 15% in 2011 as compared with 2010.

This is why it is so critical to anyone who views the US economy as the key issue in this US election, to not just reelect Democratic Moderate Barack Obama, but to also vote to make sure that Democratic Moderates regain control of the US House.

So, why is it that the total earnings is so substantially lower in 2011 in Colorado, and in many other US States all over the country, when the US House was under Very Conservative Republican control, than it was in both 2009 and in 2010?

Well, this Very Conservative Republican US House has no interest in compromise.  Thus, nearly every wise, much-needed Obama economic initiative was stopped by this US House, and also stopped by filibustering by US Senate Republicans.

And the losers here were not just the unemployed, the underemployed, the dwindling middle class, and the people trying to get into the middle class.  US Businesses were also big losers, by either having their earnings growth substantially decelerate in 2011, or worse yet, having their total earnings decline in 2011.  And this downward total earnings growth trend also continued in the first half of 2012.

Below here is the Audited under US GAAP After-tax Net Income or Net Loss for each of these 82 Largest Colorado Corps for each of the most recent five fiscal years.  The overwhelming majority of these Corporations have a December Fiscal Year End (FYE).
