Solid Waste and Recycling Company Republic Services Inc's Stock Market Price Increased By 486% From a Low of $15.05 Per Share in the First Quarter of 2009 to $88.24 Per Share Currently ..... So What Was the Score Here on Who Got the Economic Benefits of This Huge Stock Market Price Appreciation? Republic Services Inc's Directors and Executive Officers as a Group: Very Close to 100% ..... All Other Republic Services Employees: Very Close to 0%

From Republic Services Inc's Proxy Statement filed with the US SEC, on March 16, 2009 Republic Services Inc's All Directors and Executive Officers as a Group serving then beneficially owned 23,617,246 Republic Services common shares.

David Foley, then a Director of Republic Services, is listed as beneficially owning 21,618,764 of these shares.  Foley was also then a Senior Managing Director at the Blackstone Group LP.  Nearly all of these 21,618.5,764 shares are really shares held by the Blackstone Entities.  Foley disclaims beneficial ownership of shares owned by the Blackstone Entities.

Republic Services current CEO Donald Slager was the beneficial owner of 650,287 common shares of Republic Services on March 16, 2009.  Ten years later on March 19, 2019, Slager beneficially owned 724,140 common shares of Republic Services.   In addition on March 19, 2019, Slager owned 105,755 Republic Services restricted stock units, which are similar to or track Republic Services common stock.

Bill Gates-owned Cascade Investment LLC owned 56,754,169 common shares of Republic Services common stock on March 16, 2009 for a 15.0% ownership interest.  Ten years later on March 19, 2019, Cascade had stepped up its ownership to 108,802,519 common shares for a 33.8% ownership interest, which equates to $9.6 Bil using Republic Services current stock market price.

I don't believe it that Bill Gates would want to treat sanitation workers unfairly.

BlackRock owns 20,563,044 common shares of Republic Services on March 19, 2019 for a 6.4% ownership interest.

I also don't believe it that BlackRock's CEO Larry Fink would want to treat sanitation workers unfairly.

So why can't Republic Services CEO Donald Slager come to a fair settlement with Teamsters?
